Fenix HT18R is an evolution of the popular searchlight - HT18, which after upgrading received an impressive light output of up to 2800 lumens, allowing to illuminate objects even more than 1100 m away. It comes with 2 color filters for changing the color of the light.
The most important changes in the HT18R flashlight compared to the HT18:
The flashlight's tube is made of anodized aluminum A6061-T HA-III, which guarantees high resistance to damage and robustness of construction. Thanks to the transverse moleting of the surface, the flashlight fits securely in the hand, and its grip is well felt - even with gloves. The optical system is protected by a steel crown, which allows the flashlight to be safely placed flat. Despite its wide 68mm head, the searchlight is handy and comfortable to use. At 188 mm in length, the flashlight, with a 5,000 mAh rechargeable 21700-type battery, weighs only 362 grams, which is relatively light for a searchlight with such impressive capabilities. The battery compartment features two springs, which guarantee reliable and stable operation during hunting or use in harsh conditions
The light source is a new generation Luminus SFT70 LED, generating a maximum light output of 2800 lumens. The emitted has a cool-white color of 6500 K, which is great for long-range flashlights. The human eye perceives "cool light" as stronger, so it works best for illuminating terrain and distant objects. The flashlight's capabilities are significantly enhanced by the included color filters applied to the head.
The red filter is great for nighttime operations because, unlike white light, the red beam does not blind the user, provides a smooth adaptation of the eyesight to seeing in the dark, makes it easier to read maps and makes us less visible to animals and other people. The green filter is a proven solution for hunters, as most game does not react to green light, making it easier to approach and take an accurate shot.
The flashlight uses anti-reflective glass with high light transmission and a smooth SMO reflector. Such a design perfectly concentrates the light beam, which translates into an impressive range of up to 1,100 m. Thanks to this, the Fenix HT18R flashlight will easily illuminate a forest wall, a mountainside, a ravine and other remote places you want to see.
The user has 4 levels of steady light brightness: turbo, high, medium, low, and 2 flash modes: strobe and S.O.S. The Fenix HT18R has a convenient interface, operated with one hand via 2 rear buttons.
The large, round tactical button is used to turn the light on and off and activate the momentary light. The smaller button with an oval profile is responsible for changing the brightness levels of the modes and activating the 2 mentioned flash modes. Thanks to the memory function, the last used light mode (excluding strobe and S.O.S.) is automatically selected the next time the flashlight is activated. Such functionality makes the operation of the HT18R flashlight simple and extremely convenient, making it perfect for hunting, uniformed services work and exploration.
The flashlight is powered by an ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 21700 battery with a capacity of up to 5000 mAh! V2.0 The battery used has twice the capacity of a standard 18650 cell, affecting performance and long runtime. In the maximum mode of 2800 lumens, the flashlight works for up to 100 minutes (total run time). The functionality and mobility of the flashlight is significantly enhanced by the built-in USB-C charging port, which allows you to quickly charge the battery without removing it from the flashlight, for example, using a power-bank or other standard power sources. The charging port is accessed by removing the rubber cover, which effectively protects the port from moisture, dust and dirt. Thanks to the function of the battery level indicator (LED in the body) and the low voltage warning, we can conveniently control the state of energy in the flashlight After turning on the flashlight, the indicator for 3 seconds informs us about the level of battery charge.
The flashlight remembers the last used brightness level. When you turn it on again, the flashlight automatically activates in that mode (memory function). The flashlight has a high protection class IP68, so it is resistant to dust, dust, full immersion in water at a depth of 2 m and a fall from a height of 1 m. The manufacturer also did not forget to include protection against overheating and reverse polarity, as well as a driver with digital current regulation.
The light's performance was tested using ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 batteries.
